Jill Grundy is the director and founder of Lotus Learning, which she established in 2011, opening the Learning Centre in January 2013. Previously, she enjoyed teaching children from Kindergarten to Year 6, including Opportunity Classes, in a range of public primary schools across Sydney. She has furthered her academic qualifications with a Certificate of Gifted Education; a Master of Education,specialising in Gifted Education, from the University of NSW; and a Certificate in Family Systems from the F.S.I. at Neutral Bay. She has lectured and tutored at the UNSW in Communication Disabilities and Assistive Technology, Classroom Management and Addressing Student Diversity.
The Vision....
The name of Lotus Learning came after visiting Vietnam and China where Jill was taken by the beauty and symbolism of the lotus flowers seen everywhere, and touched by the peoples' reverence and deep respect for education.
The Lotus Flower symbolises pure thinking and enlightenment. Growing out of the mire, its petals unfold to reveal the inner seed pod. When the the seeds release it may take up to a thousand years to germinate!
