The OC Tests are not a test of knowledge and skills but a test of the students’ capacity to transfer their knowledge and skills to problems they do not usually encounter in the classroom. 

The Lotus Learning program for students in Year 3 and 4 builds students’ capacity to transfer knowledge and skills to new situations.  Students’ knowledge, skills, study and self-monitoring strategies are extended through explicit teaching and practice, as well as guided discovery and exploration activities. Students are asked to combine these new skills and knowledge with their past knowledge, passion, perseverance and curiosity to solve unique problems in Maths, Reading and General Ability.

The main focus of courses at Lotus Learning goes well beyond gaining entry to an Opportunity Class. We seek to equip students to grow their intelligence with skills and strategies for lifelong academic success in any environment.
